Meditation
"People usually consider walking on water or in thin air a miracle. But I think the real miracle is not to walk either on water or in thin air but to walk on earth. Every day we are engaged in a miracle which we don't even recognize: a blue sky, white clouds, green leaves, the black curious eyes of a child - our own two eyes. All is a miracle." Thich Nhat Hanh
The purpose of meditation is just
to see things as they actually are. We can use this
very simple practice to begin to understand that we
are a part of an endless tapestry of relationships,
a tapestry that is constantly being woven and rewoven
by all living beings. Through meditation we can begin
to see that in a sense, we are this tapestry. You could
say this is the beginning of insight.
Sessions are led by members of the Earth Sangha Buddhism
Community. Practice derives from Korean Zen but we have
adapted it to suit people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
Please see www.earthsangha.org
for more information on the Earth Sangha and our practice
of engaged buddhism.
